Something keeps feeling off...
You're not imagining it.
There's a pattern.
Learn to recognize manipulation and control, respond with clarity, and rebuild trust in your own judgment.
The moment you understand the game, it begins to lose its power.
Do any of these sound familiar?
- The focus keeps shifting. You raise a concern and somehow, the discussion becomes about your tone, memory, or character.
- You replay conversations over and over. You keep wondering what you said wrong, what you should have said differently, and how you ended up apologizing when you were the one who was hurt.
- You walk on eggshells. You watch their mood, and carefully choose your words because you never know what might set them off.
- Saying no always seems to come with a price. There may be guilt, anger, silence, criticism, or pressure until giving in feels easier than holding your ground.
- The goalposts keep moving. Just when you think you reached an understanding, the rules change.
- Their mood can turn in an instant. One moment you’re adored and praised. The next, they’re cold, critical, or raging over something you never saw coming.
- You feel like you’re going crazy. They deny what was said, change the story, leave out important pieces, or insist you misunderstood.
If even one of these felt familiar, you don’t need a diagnosis or a dramatic story to trust that something isn’t right.
You’re not imagining it. What you’re feeling makes sense and you’re in the right place.

“If I can say one thing to someone still stuck.... Yes! You can get out of survival mode! A thriving life is absolutely possible! Unfortunately our community has very little true understanding and narcissistic abuse resources.... I only found UNMASKED at age 45. I knew Miriam and her work but I was not prepared for this level of knowledge, validation, and guidance. I feel like I'm just starting to live life fully for the first time. You owe it to yourself! Do it!”

Why I created Unmasked
For a long time, I didn’t have a name for what was happening. There wasn’t one dramatic incident, just constant confusion.
Determined to understand, I began studying Narcissistic Personality Disorder and the patterns surrounding it. My studies gave me language, but living through it taught me what no textbook could: how difficult these patterns are to see from the inside and how deeply they can make you doubt yourself.
Much of the advice I found felt disconnected from real life: “Confront them. Cut them off. Just leave.” But within Orthodox Jewish life - with family, faith, and community - it’s rarely that simple.
UNMASKED is the resource I wish I had back then. I created it for you, to help you understand what has been happening, and begin empowering yourself.
You don’t have to keep piecing this together alone.

Common Questions
Who is UNMASKED for?
UNMASKED is for anyone who consistently feels confused, guilty, controlled, off balance, or unsure of their own judgment. The relationship may involve a spouse, parent, adult child, sibling, friend, employer, community figure, or coparent.
It was created especially for Orthodox Jewish women and men who want clear, practical guidance that respects the realities of family, faith, and community.
You don’t need a diagnosis, undeniable proof, or a plan for what comes next. If something keeps feeling wrong and you want to understand it more clearly, UNMASKED is for you.
How can UNMASKED help me?
UNMASKED is designed to help you make sense of what you’ve been experiencing. You’ll learn to recognize the patterns that may be leaving you confused, respond without getting pulled into the same exhausting abusive cycle, and begin rebuilding strategically with trust in your judgment.
It offers clarity and practical tools to help you decide what comes next for yourself.
What makes UNMASKED credible?
UNMASKED was created by Miriam Leventhal, whose own search to understand abusive relationships led her to study Psychology and Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
The course brings together formal education, extensive research, lived experience, and a firsthand understanding of Orthodox Jewish life. It is educational and non-diagnostic, designed to explain these patterns clearly and offer practical ways to respond.
Do they need to be diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder?
No.
This course isn’t about diagnosing anyone. It’s about recognizing repeated patterns: manipulation, blame, control, confusion, guilt, and emotional instability, and understanding how those patterns have affected you in the past, present, and future.
What makes UNMASKED different from other NPD education or programs?
UNMASKED was created with a firsthand understanding of Orthodox Jewish life, where relationships are shaped by family, faith, community, children, finances, and deeply held values.
Rather than focusing only on labeling someone a narcissist, UNMASKED helps you understand the pattern, recognize how it affects you, and learn practical ways to respond. The goal is to give you clarity and tools so you can make your own decisions safely and thoughtfully.
Reclaim your life.
